SLO

I absolutely LOVE San Luis Obispo, California!  So happy for my recent visit.  It is a true happy place for me!  Thank you Kurt Brown, for who you are, all you have given me, and the best excuse to come for a visit!  So lovely to see so many dear friends!  I will be back soon – guaranteed.

January 2019

Had a wonderful time at the January MFA Residency at Lesley University!  Took a few awesome field trips to the Institute of Contemporary Art, the Boston Museum of Fine Art, and the Harvard Fine Arts Library.  Had a blast with my wonderful cohort (love these ladies!) and enjoyed my course work, and taking the subway to and from school each day.  Excited about my new local mentor, my wonderful new adviser, and a semester of exciting work ahead!dscf0699e1

Funky Onion

Sometimes you just stumble across something that inspires you.  I had this onion sprouting in the cupboard in my kitchen (oops) and it was so beautiful to me, that I had to photograph it!  My co-worker is going to plant it in his greenhouse garden!  Maybe we can call this a vegetable portrait!DSC_0079e1DSC_0083e1DSC_0087e1DSC_0091e1

Identity

As I work with portraiture, and my study of identity, I am interested to think about and experiment with the different ways that a portrait can show a perspective on who a person is, but only in part.  What is real, what is constructed, what does an image really show?
